The year ahead


A_R_1stnat-3A_R_1stnat-2A_R_1stNat-1The property market in 2014 was characterised by a strong first 4 months, a large gaping hole in activity leading up to and around Election time, and a withering burst of activity through from late October to New Year.

That lift in confidence apparent after the clear cut Election result, is set to carry on throughout 2015, because it is based on actual work being done. Business’s are busy, tradesmen are flat out, more workers are getting longer hours, and outside money in the form of Expressway payments are recirculating around and around the District, generating the multiplier effect.

First National HQ report the value growth of Auckland is also now spreading NZ wide. The 5 sales we made in 2014 to Aucklander’s may well become 10 or 15 this year. At our first open homes this year, NZ’ers looking to come home, and young couples from Auckland were evident. One couple, looking at a grotty 1brm flat in Mt Roskill for $390,000, could not believe the value we offer here! Another couple with two children, could not envisage ever paying off their mortgage if they bought in Auckland, decided to look here instead. They are in the fortunate position of both working from home, but this puts a huge emphasis on good internet services in our District!

One thing for sure, we will be here and working hard to maximise opportunities for our Vendors!

Time out!

Real Estate is a relentless 7 day a week activity, so it was wonderful to have a couple of weeks away over Christmas. Bram Crysell took charge, and continued to deliver excellent service, and results, for our customers over this time. Jo and I walked the Milford Track, and revelled in the praise the overseas visitors heaped on NZ, the way we are so positively perceived in the World. We are recharged, focussed, and energised for the busy year ahead.
