Competition – Design a flag for the Te Horo Community Hall

2587

Au_14_Flagpole The Te Horo Hall Committee wants local people, young and old, to help them come up with a design for their own flag.

This year, during its 100-year celebrations, a flagpole has been installed for the first time at the Te Horo Community Hall. Now the Hall Committee thinks it would be a great idea to have a specially-designed flag to fly on special occasions, and are calling upon members of the community to enter a competition to design a flag.

The design of the flag should represent Te Horo, have an aspect ratio of 3 x 5, and be submitted as a pdf file. The actual size of the flag will be 900 mm high by 1500mm across. If text is used, be aware that it will appear reversed on the other side of the flag.

All entries must be received by Friday 19 September and will then be submitted for judging to our panel of local judges, comprising Barbara Harford-Silas, producer of Te Horo Harvest products, Barbara Chatters of the Hall Committee and David Bird of Gabion1.

The designer of the winning entry will receive two tickets to “The 100 Year Party” being held in the Te Horo Hall on 25 October 2014, plus a basket of Te Horo goodies.

If you would like to be part of this exciting project and submit a flag design depicting what Te Horo means to you, please contact Jenny on 364-6347 or email tewaka@gmail.com for more details, and the competition rules.
