OTAKI MUSEUM: “Çanakkale — Road to peace out of war

F_R_museumFrom 11.30am on Friday 5 June 2015 the museum is hosting “Çanakkale — Road to peace out of war”, an exhibition offering a unique Turkish perspective of the War at Gallipoli from the Embassy of the Republic of Turkey.

Developed from images taken during the war by the soldiers who fought in the trenches, this exhibition explores a side of the war at Gallipoli never before seen by many, especially New Zealanders and Australians (the ANZACs).

The exhibition runs in conjunction with the Otaki Museum’s exhibition, “Otaki Remembers World War I”. Together they reveal a poignant insight from the ANZAC and Turkish trenches.

The exhibitions will run until Saturday 27 June, within the museum’s normal opening hours 10am-2pm, Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays. Admission is free.
