DE14_Rangiuru-postcard
This postcard features Rangiuru House, built by Tudor Atkinson in 1892 and managed by various proprietors.
In 1924 it was run by Mrs Ritson and Miss Liddle.

 LOCAL AND GENERAL

“Rangiuru House” a favourite resort, has room for a few more boarders, but early application is necessary.  This accommodation house is beautifully situate, fishing streams and hunting grounds adjoin, while tariff is low.

Inquiries are becoming quite frequent for information concerning electric current for power purposes.  Messrs. Eeles & Company have already installed a number of motors, and to their credit must be placed the first milking plant in the district to be electrically operated, the first electric plant for operating a shearing machine, the first water pump, and the first printing plant electrically driven.  The latter is the machinery of the “Otaki Mail” now linked up with Mangahao power, Messrs Eeeles & Company being responsible for this installation.
