Well, we are now heading into the cooler months but still the beautiful vista from our beachfront residence keeps a smile on our dial whether it’s the storms of last week or on a beautiful autumn sunrise, such as today.
Locals who frequent Marine Parade may have noticed that our building has had a bit of a ‘Face Lift’ recently with new signage and a paint job, adding to the charm and character that the 1930’s building still has within this beautiful community of Otaki.
We welcome some new faces to our staff family including myself, the new Facility Manager, our experienced Clinical Nurse Manager and two Enrolled Nurses since the start of the year. The ‘Newbies’ join the rest of the fantastic team, which includes our longest serving staff member of 30 years, Edith and two of our most senior Caregivers, Pauline and Teresa (9 years) supporting all our local staff here to support our bonnie wee home catering for our 20 residents who call Ocean View their home away from home.
You may see our Recreational Officer, June, drive through town in our van with our passengers. Give her a wave when you see her! Weather permitting, some of the Residents enjoy a ‘tiki tour’ around the community and beyond on their day trips.
Keep warm and safe everyone and if you happen to have a family/whanau member or friend at our Home, we look forward to your visit sometime.
Until next time, ma te wa.
Ue Mareikura (Facility Manager)
