With buckets of daffodils at strategic places around town it must be the annual Cancer Society appeal, Daffodil Day.
Pictured are volunteers Pam Snowden and Macha Miller at their post outside Countdown supermarket with Marilyn Stevens, Horowhenua Cancer Society Field Officer, who had arrived to replenish their daffodil supplies.
There was a good supply of fresh daffodils available this year as well as a variety of the society’s goods — pens, notepads, windmills, teddy bears and artificial daffodils.
Many of the schools held their own collections, whether by coin trail, collection bucket or special event.
Mrs Stevens said the day had been a great success with plenty of daffodils and willing volunteers.
All funds raised in Ōtaki are used in the Cancer Society’s work in the Otaki–Horowhenua area.
