If you feel like getting in amongst nature, don’t miss a walk around Haruatai Park on the evening of Monday 7 March.
Mayor Ross Church and park experts will guide us around the area to see rongoa and millennium plantings, as well as the ancient swamp forest.
The event starts at 6.30pm at the top of the park next to Ōtaki Pool and will wrap up with a free sausage sizzle. Make sure you wear suitable walking shoes and bring a bottle of water.
This walk is part of ‘Parks Week’ which runs from 5–13 March. To find out what other events are on during that week around the district (including more guided walks, a guided cycle ride, a military fitness session and music in the park), visit kapiticoast.govt.nz/parksweek
