The range of health services available to students at Ōtaki College has increased this term with the opening of Te Whare Hauora health centre. This free GP/nurse service is provided by Kapiti Youth Service (KYS) and is available to students onsite on Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
This service covers a full range of health services and is being well utilised by students. The college also continues to receive the nursing service of a Mid Central Health clinic on Monday morning and during the week as required. KYS also uses Te Whare Hauora to provide youth services to students through their youth worker programme. This is a good transition service for students to support the “next steps” of their educational process.
