Te Horo Hall Society AGM
If you would like to help steer the management of Te Horo’s community hall, and have a couple of hours to spare every six weeks, consider joining the hall committee, a friendly bunch who welcome new ideas.
Everyone is welcome to the Society’s AGM on Monday, May 23, 7.30pm when a new committee will be elected, including the positions of treasurer and secretary.
Sundays at Te Horo Hall: 4 talk and a cuppa
An entertaining series of four, free talks and a cuppa are planned for Sunday afternoons at Te Horo Hall. It’s an ideal opportunity to meet locals and join with our rural community, as well as learn about a wide range of subjects.
‘Sunday Speakers’ are hour long sessions and kick off on Sunday, 22 May at 2.00pm with Te Horo’s Fire Chief, Brian Sutton, ‘The history and moments of the Te Horo volunteer fire brigade.’
Sunday, 12 June, 2.00pm, ‘Honeybee biology and beekeeping,’ presented by local apiarist, Andy Johnson.
Sunday, 3 July, 2.00pm, Neil McInnes talks (with enthusiasm and experience) about ‘The rewards and pitfalls of establishing a large country garden.’
Sunday, 24 July, 2.00pm, ‘An afternoon of comical and favourite poetry,’ chaired by Andy Johnson and Neil McInnes. This is an open microphone, interactive session so bring your favourite poems and writings, and be prepared to share.
Te Horo Country Market
A monthly community market provides a great opportunity to check out Te Horo’s wide variety of produce and products. Sunday, 1 May, 10.00am to 12.30pm, wet or fine, at Te Horo Hall.
Swiss Ball classes
Weekly exercise classes at Te Horo Hall, Tuesday, 9.15am to 10.15am. Swiss Ball gives a great all-round workout, suitable for all ages and abilities. Contact Carola 021 060 6094.
Drinks and Nibbles
A monthly BYO evening at Te Horo Hall, Friday, 6 May, 5.30pm. Catch up with your neighbours and meet newcomers to the area. Bring a plate of nibbles to share and something to drink.
