Paul Carlyon — Surf lifesaving volunteer of the year

JN15-paul-c-lifesaving-CULast weekend, at the Capital Coast Surf Lifesaving Awards of Excellence at the Plimmerton Boating Club, Otaki surfers were prominent. Otaki’s Nealames, President of Surf Life Saving New Zealand made the awards.

Volunteer of the year was Paul Carlyon.

Under 19 Lifeguard of the year Isaac Hyde.

Surf Life Saving New Zealand Club Development Officer Zoë Canvin says Paul’s dedication and commitment to Surf Life Saving is an inspiration. “Paul is an outstanding example of a volunteer who goes above and beyond, performing a number of roles for his club and local community,” she said.

Paul received a Distinguished Service award in 2014, has chaired the Otaki Surf Lifesaving club and played a significant leadership role in club activities for many years.
