F_R_RotaryJoin the Debate! Celebrity Debate!

Otaki Memorial Hall will come alive on Friday 4th July at 7pm when Otaki Rotary and Otaki Surf Club join together to raise funds for Community projects. Two illustrious teams will debate ‘Should Otaki declare Independence!’ Leading the For team will be Rob McCann, Labour candidate for Otaki, supported by Gurunathan, and Cathy Strong. Against the moot is Gavin Welsh, Hon Nathan Guy, and Libby Hakaraia.

Music before and after will be supplied by ‘Swamp Dixie’ featuring a strong American flavour for Independence Day.

Tickets at $25 per person can be collected from First National, Otaki, or at the door. There is a bar, and a good supper will be served. Don’t miss this exciting, fun event.

Rotary Bookfair set to go!

The old Soapbox factory next to New World is awash with books being sorted, stacked and readied for sale, but more are needed. Donate your used books at Otaki Library, Otaki New World, Edhouses, and First National, and put 26th & 27th July and 2nd & 3rd August in your diary to stock up again. If you would like to assist with sorting, join us Tuesday nights 7pm to 9pm, or Thursday 2pm to 4pm.

Otaki Rotary are assisted by Cancer Society to deliver this valuable and much anticipated Community event.
