Merry Christmas from the Mayor

Ross ChurchAs Xmas and the New Year approaches, I’m sure you’re all looking forward to a break after what has been a very busy year.

2015 has been a time of consolidation as our Council has bedded in the big projects that were completed in recent years, and opted for a slower pace with prudent spending and conservative financial management.

My work has brought me into close contact with many of our residents and I appreciate the genuine support that is being shown as we work together for the future of our beautiful district.

As you do your Christmas shopping, remember our local producers and retailers. Your spending here will help support and grow the businesses of our district. Buy local if you can.

If you are staying in Kāpiti over the holiday, welcome your guests to our area and show them our fantastic attractions — our towns, our parks, our cycleways, our rivers and our beaches.

If you are travelling away for a holiday, enjoy your time away.

Wherever you are, I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and New Year break.
