Valdis Plato reports on progress at the MenzShed:
“The outside of the shed is painted, filled, windows puttied up and barge boards replaced where the rot was too much to fill ….. the old girl is ready for quite a lot more years for us sheddies to enjoy. The inside is nearly finished with a race on to get it ready for the official opening and blessing on June 17.
We now have a very advanced security system using video and infra red movement detectors which we installed. Thank you donors and our own techno geeks ….. much nicer than padlocks and iron bars spoiling our Cinderella.
There will be a public open day on Sunday early in June ….. look for the signs in shops and on our entrance gate.
We need some Fluro lights so us old codgers can hit the nail on the head every time ….. ring me Valdis Plato (364 5636) or come up to the shed any Tuesday or Thursday 10 to 4 pm”
The team are transforming the old building into a safe haven for old codgers to hang out and indulge in a spot of male bonding
