Māoriland runs with volunteers — can you help?

FE16_MFF-volunteersVolunteerism — The practice of volunteering one’s time or talents for worthwhile activities, especially in one’s community.

Whilst volunteerism isn’t a word we tend to hear often in NZ, it is a concept we are all familiar with. It’s a vital part of any international film festival and Māoriland is no exception

Behind the scenes of MFF is a supportive group of individuals, businesses and organizations volunteering their films, time, services, talents, knowledge, products, facilities etc. We would struggle without the help of these volunteers.

We know there are a lot of people in our community who would like to be involved in some way and invite you to contact us if you have a particular talent or skill you can contribute.

MFF is committed to supporting and encouraging the many talented young people we have around our district and will be liaising with local schools to identify positions within the festival that may benefit them.

Examples of some tasks we require assistance with are: drivers to do airport transfers, local shuttles and Saturday night drop offs (we provide the vehicle), ticket sales prior to and during the festival week, venue set up, ushering, assisting with accommodation set up, poster distribution both around and outside of Ōtaki.

Or you may be interested in becoming involved as a Sponsor or Friend of the Festival.

If you would like to know more you can contact the Festival Co-Ordinator — Tania@maorilandfilm.co.nz or head on over to our website and fill in the Volunteer form. We’d love to hear your thoughts.
