Foodbank Collection for Ōtaki Community – Saturday 28th November 2015

NO15_LionsBag.jpgOn Saturday 28th November the Combined Lions Clubs of Kapiti District will be holding its annual Foodbank Collection, and for the second year running, the Ōtaki Lions will be out collecting for the Ōtaki Community.Ōtaki Lions President, Peter Askwith said “The yellow plastic bags will be hand delivered by Ōtaki Lions to all properties in Ōtaki and Te Horo during the two weeks leading up to the collection, and I would like to make it well known that all the food collected will be handed over to the local Ōtaki Foodbank”.

Food items most needed are:

  • Tinned fish or meat
  • Spreads – Jams, Vegemite etc.
  • Cereals
  • Pasta, Rice, Noodles
  • Pasta Sauce
  • Spaghetti, Baked Beans
  • Tinned Tomatoes
  • Tinned Fruit
  • Tea, Coffee, Fruit Drinks
  • Tinned and Packet Soups
  • Sugar, Flour
  • Christmas Treats
  • Baking Ingredients
  • Toiletries

If people do not get an official bag delivered, any supermarket bag can be used. People are asked to leave their bag at the gate by 9.30am on the Saturday.

Should the bag miss being collected, please ring Peter on 364 2417 and he will arrange for it to be collected
